New Shins Video

December 21st 2006 08:54

The Shins

The Shins have released the video for "Phantom Limb," the first single to be lifted from their upcoming album, Wincing the Night Away. To be honest, the only Shins song I ever liked was "Kissing the Lipless," but I haven't had the chance to to delve into the new album yet, so I can't totally judge yet. From first glimpses though, "Phantom Limb" is a pretty decent song, a ballad with enough off-key notes to add some spice in the song. The accompanying video seems to be various historical battles, reenacted by kids, an interesting concept, and definitely a good parallel to the child love themes of Sigur Ros videos. You can watch the new video here.

Wincing the Night Away is the fourth album to be released from the Shins, and is scheduled for release on January 23rd 2007.

New U2 Video

December 18th 2006 23:00
U2 have released the video for their new song, "Window in the Skies," one of the tracks on U218. The song is U2 at their most generic, but the video is pretty interesting, a montage of various artists across the last fifty years, lip-synced to the lyrics of the song. The video also features a few clips of the members of U2 in the crowd, a nice touch.

Can't find much on Polytechnic, but I found this video too good not to put up. The piano, the choir, the vocals - it's haunting but its brilliant. Enjoy.

First iPhone details

December 4th 2006 11:31
It seems like people have been talking about the iPhone since the birth of the iPod in 2001. People have been speculating about whether it existed, and what it would look like. Of course, there was the horrible attempt at iTunes integration into a mobile phone with the Motorola Rokr but the market didn't bite. Fortunately, we have the first details to come out for the iPhone, courtesy of digg.com founder Kevin Rose. From the video, it can be ascertained the information comes from an unknown insider source who probably is under an NDA, and the phone will have the following features:

space - Available in 4gb (US$249) and 8gb (US$449) capacities
