CibbuanoKronos Quartet plays Jimi Hendrix

The Kronos Quartet is a string quartet put together in the 70s, comprised of two violins, a viola and a cello. And you know I dig that deep cello flavour.
They've been popular in recent times, though, ever since they did the theme music for the nauseating heroin regret movie, "Requiem for a Dream".
They've always tried to stay fresh and original, performing work by eclectic composers and encouraging the discovery of new artists.
They're also popular for having the bizarre desire to record Jimi Hendrix as a quartet:
It's a strange, dissonant combination... perhaps the appeal is just because it's so bizarre. You'd never expect to get dressed up in a tuxedo, have cocktails, attend a concert only to have Jimi flung in your face.
Besides, we all liked the original thing, right?
