Ben Gibbard announces solo jaunt
February 27th 2007 00:24
Frontman for Death Cab for Cutie, Ben Gibbard, has announced his solo tour around the US. The tour, beginning in Minnesota in May this year, will involve up to sixteen tour dates across America. Gibbard will be accompanied by Jonathan Rice and Pedro the Lion during the dates.
Gibbard is well known for having several projects under his belt at any one time, the most notable being Death Cab. However, he is also heavily involved in side projects like All-Time Quarterback and he is half of the indietronica duo, the Postal Service. As such, a solo project is unsurprising, though he is without a debut album yet, so it will be interesting to see what he actually plays on his tour.
