Dashboard Confessional
Chris Carrabba

Chris Carrabba
Latest news on Dashboard Confessional's new album - the title is "Dusk and Summer" and it will be available from June 27th this year. So far, I haven't liked any of the demos written by Chris Carrabba since the release of 2003's "A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar" but you never know. I went through a stage of pure obsession with Dashboard Confessional, mainly Chris' acoustic period. That obsession has since subsided, but its good to know that he's still putting out the hits, and I could definitely fall in love with this album, should it be good enough.

Dashboard have also announced their tour schedule to follow the release of their album. Have a look at the line up for the tour: Dashboard Confessional (derr), Say Anything and Ben Lee. Ben Lee??? Say Anything??? Have you ever heard of a wierder line up? Ok, maybe Ben Lee - an Australian acoustic pop singer - but Say Anything? For those who don't know, Say Anything are an extremely cynical and negative punk band which I was very interested in for a short period of time (and I'll review them shortly) but they certainly don't suit the neo-hippie stylings of Ben Lee, or even the emotional Chris Carrabba. Oh well, might turn out to be good after all and, if they do come out to Australia, I might even check them out.

Until then, check out these links:

Oh, and by the way, "GN" is the new category, for "General News" - basically any news that doesn't fit into my Weekly News spill.

That does seem like an unlikely touring trio; a punk, an emo and a pop musician. It seems like they should be walking into a bar as part of a joke

Haha definitely. Imagine the emotions you'd feel on that night - loneliness and depression because of your lost girlfriend, then hapiness over pop music, then depression because of who you are. A very confused audience.

true true, though I think the depression over lost girlfriend mood would win, because Ben Lee also sings about that, in that song that goes *sings* "goodbye my lover, goodbye my friend" Sorry, don't know the name, or much at all about Ben Lee

You obviously don't - that's James Blunt . But I know what you mean. Apart from that damn poppy single, "Catch My Disease" his album is actually pretty mellow and, not depressive, but not happy.
