Crowded House to reform for new tour

Neil Finn has been a bit nostalgic of late. In 2004, he reunited with his brother and Split Enz co-founder Tim Finn for the album, Everyone is Here which performed well internationally. Then, halfway through last year, Split Enz reunited for a cross-Tasman tour, with rumours of a full reunion almost coming to fruition. Now, it appears, Neil Finn has longed for his Australian counterparts, the lineup once known as Crowded House.
With their Farewell to the World DVD having just hit store shelves last November, rumours of a reunion tour have hit hard and fast. Melbourne's Herald Sun are reporting that Neil Finn and Crowded House bassist Nick Seymour are currently holding auditions in Auckland, Los Angeles and Sydney for a drummer to replace Paul Hester, who committed suicide two years ago. Finn is reportedly willing to commit a full 12 months to the tour which is yet to be announced.
The tour coincides with the anniversary of the band's split, a decade ago, and comes shortly after the release of Finn's new solo album, which also features Seymour. "We've reconnected musically," Neil Finn recently said about his relationship with Seymour. "I've really enjoyed him playing bass. There's something instinctive that we've got together and it's pretty undeniable."
In the past, Finn has denied any rumours about a reunion tour, saying that former drummer Hester was an irreplaceable member of the band. Nevertheless, the tour, which is expected to be announced sometime next week, will see the band reform with a new drummer who is yet to be announced. The tour locations are not known yet, but it is likely that the world tour will cover at least Australia, New Zealand and some parts of the US.
Neil Finn's new solo album is scheduled to be released in March.

Split Enz > Crowded House.
However, I am still happy that they are getting back together. Bless MSN Today for sharing this lovely piece of news.
