First iPhone details
December 4th 2006 11:31
It seems like people have been talking about the iPhone since the birth of the iPod in 2001. People have been speculating about whether it existed, and what it would look like. Of course, there was the horrible attempt at iTunes integration into a mobile phone with the Motorola Rokr but the market didn't bite. Fortunately, we have the first details to come out for the iPhone, courtesy of digg.com founder Kevin Rose. From the video, it can be ascertained the information comes from an unknown insider source who probably is under an NDA, and the phone will have the following features:
space - Available in 4gb (US$249) and 8gb (US$449) capacities
space - Slide-out keyboard
space - A mobile version of OSX will be its operating system
space - Two batteries: one for music capability, one for normal mobile phone operation
space - Flash memory
space - Will be available on most mobile frequencies - CDMA, HDSPA etc.
space - Touchscreen "on the outside" - suggesting a clamshell phone
