Futureheads face future head on
November 24th 2006 00:02
Pitchfork have posted an interview with Futureheads, regarding their choice of label and whatnot. The British band were dropped by their label, 679, three days ago, after having produced only two albums with them. When the news was announced, the band reported that the contract was up between the band and the label, and as they were not happy with the conditions, they had decided not to resign with the label.
The interview with Pitchfork moves deeper into the issue, revealing that the band wanted to explore further musically for their new album. "I want to get loads of songs together to chose from," band frontman Barry Hyde has expressed. "Like 30 songs or something like that... I'd like to try making a really abrasive album... I want to make a heavy rock album. We want to make music that has a very unusual groove, but you can't escape it, you can't deny it."
As yet, no announcement has been made as to possibilities for a new label contract, but the band are still looking.
