Rolling Stones Top 50 Albums and Top 100 Songs of 2007
The year hasn’t quite closed and already the rock n roll bible known as Rolling Stone magazine has posted it’s short list (relative term) of musical stepping stones left in 2007.
In the subjective field of music I always find it hard to compile a best of for each year and often turn to other supposedly more qualified publications for an overall picture of the melodic contributions of the last 12 months.
Reading through The Rolling Stone list I see that profit margin and celebrity status seem to play a part. Thankfully there are also some worthwhile contributions.
As with any list everyone will find their own discrepancies and as with most art forms the more vast your knowledge the less chance of seeing your own personal favourites make the cut.
The Top 5 Albums of the year according to Rolling Stone are………
5 Graduation by Kanye West
4 Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
3 American Gangster by Jay-Z
2 Magic by Bruce Springsteen
1 Kala by M.I.A
