Jamiroquai release new single
September 24th 2006 03:57
Funk poppers Jamiroquai are set to release their latest album, entitled "High Times: The Singles 1992-2006." Granted, it is a best of compilation, but it seems that Jay has taken a page out of the Chili Peppers' book and made it a little more appealing by adding a few originals on the side. The album, to be released on November 6th, will include two new tracks, called Runaway and Radio.
Runaway is the first of the two to be released as a single as promotion for the album, and you can hear it at their Myspace. Interestingly, the release of the album also signals the end of Jamiroquai's eight-album contract with Sony BMG. It is not sure yet whether they will continue yet under the label subsidiary Columbia Records, or whether they will choose a different path altogether. Then again, best of compilations are unfortunately usually a sign of the end. Let's hope the acid jazz stylings of that mysterious dude under the American Indian hat doesn't disappear too soon.
