Kaiser Chiefs unearth a ruby
January 20th 2007 02:14
Kaiser Chiefs have always been a little bit of a schizophrenic band - while they are able to churn out great crowd-pleasers, they are also perfectly capable of churning out average, boring and cliched indie-rock songs. You'd think that when they released the first single for their upcoming album, they would choose one of the former... unfortunately not. While not totally cliched, "Ruby" isn't one of their best songs, especially in the face of previous hits like "Everyday I Love You Less and Less," and "Na Na Na Na Naa." Still, it's worth a look - which you can do here at NME.
"Ruby" is due to be released next month, February 12th, ahead of the release of their second album, Yours Truly, Angry Mob which is to be released February 26. Let's hope the rest of the album isn't like "Ruby."
