Lukas, check out the View

Thought I'd let you guys know of some local Sydney bands that I'm connected with through friends of friends of friends of someone's aunt.
The first is the View, who apparently hail from the good ol' Shire (Uncyclopedia's entry puts it best). Unconfirmed rumour is that they've just been signed to Sony Music Australia, and have even managed to lure a famed producer. Though I'm not sure of his name, news is that he's previously worked with the Sex Pistols among others, and apparently he's doing it for free. I don't think a paragraph not relating to the Australian Roads and Traffic Authority has been full of so many rumours and unconfirmed ideas in history.
Still, their music is generally quite good, and makes me angry that I missed them last night at the Annandale. Whether or not they're signed to Sony, they're sure to become quite popular soon, with some coverage on Sydney mainstream radio station Nova 96.9 and an entrance in indie station Triple J's Unearthed promotion. Their website can be found here and their Myspace has some songs for previewing as well.
While not as good as the View, Lukas are another up-and-coming band in Sydney at the moment. Taking a far mellower perspective on pop-rock, the band have had some coverage with Sydney indie station FBI 94.5, and are worth a check, at their main site and their Myspace.
