More Radiohead tributes

Fresh from yesterday's post about the String Quartet tributes to Radiohead, NME are reporting that there are two more tribute albums on the way. The two albums are to be entitled "Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Radiohead" and "Skeet Spirit, A Crunk Tribute to Radiohead." Ok, maybe not as conventional as the strings tribute...
The first album, "Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Radiohead" is apparently targeted at children and carried out in a way to make children appreciate Radiohead as a band from a young age. Tracks like Paranoid Android, Knives Out and There There are to be recomposed on vibraphones and glockenspeils to create a lullaby effect of sorts, something that can be poorly done without too much effort. This album is released on August 29.
The second tribute album, "Skeet Spirit, A Crunk Tribute to Radiohead" is mixed by DJ Gyngyvytus (possibly the worst DJ moniker ever), will feature poorly named tracks such as No Sizzuruprises, Flamboastin' Android and Talk Show Hoes. The album is already available for download here. One quick listen through brings two thoughts - the first is MC Lars' Generic Crunk Rap and the song Whoop That Trick from the Hustle and Flow Soundtrack. These songs are essentially crunk rap songs, and really don't bring forward Radiohead in any way that's noticeable enough to be appreciated. If the lullaby one is done as horrible as this, then the next generation are sure to miss out on Radiohead.
