Muse to open Wembley
December 5th 2006 00:58
Six years since its closer, London's Wembley Stadium is finally about to open its doors to the public, with the first event to be the FA Cup Final in May of 2007. However, it seems that British rockers Muse will be the first musical act to grace the grassy field when they play on June 16 next year.
Bon Jovi, Take That and Robbie Williams are all acts that were supposed to open the Stadium last year, but due to continuing delays, the stadium's opening was pushed back a further year. Now, Muse will get the opportunity to play in front of a 75,000-strong audience when they play next year.
Muse Bellamy said in an interview "It feels right for us to play this venue. We're ready for this kind of thing." Tickets go on sale on December 9 at 9am, with more European dates to be announced for around the same time.
