The Shins have released the video for "Phantom Limb," the first single to be lifted from their upcoming album, Wincing the Night Away. To be honest, the only Shins song I ever liked was "Kissing the Lipless," but I haven't had the chance to to delve into the new album yet, so I can't totally judge yet. From first glimpses though, "Phantom Limb" is a pretty decent song, a ballad with enough off-key notes to add some spice in the song. The accompanying video seems to be various historical battles, reenacted by kids, an interesting concept, and definitely a good parallel to the child love themes of Sigur Ros videos. Wincing the Night Away is the fourth album to be released from the Shins, and is scheduled for release on January 23rd 2007.
