Bloc Party supporting act in Panic! tour
August 25th 2006 03:10
Ok, there hasn't been a music blog in the world that hasn't mentioned this beautiful piece of news, but it's too good not to make it to Music Times. American dance-pop-punk-emo-electronic-rockers Panic! at the Disco have announced their new tour dates, covering the majority of the US. Along with that, they have mentioned the two supporting acts - the first is Jack's Mannequin, the side project of Something Corporate's Andrew McMahon. The second?
Bloc Party. You heard right. One of the biggest and most mainstream indie rockers out there, Bloc Party, have been announced as one of the supporting acts for Panic! The combination of Taking Back Sunday, Angels and Airwaves, the Subways and Head Automatica was wierd enough - let alone Dashboard Confessional's supporting acts Ben Lee and Say Anything - but this is just plain ridiculous. The only good I can see coming out of this is that screaming teenage girls will be exposed to decent music for once.
