Paris Hilton Album Dogged by Banksy
September 4th 2006 23:06
It seems that no one is immune from prolific graffiti artist Robert Banks, better known as Banksy. As his dedicated Wiki describes, Banksy has already pulled off several stunts, painting the sign "We're Bored of Fish" in the penguin enclosure and London Zoo, and painiting an image of ladder going up the Palestinian side of the Israeli West Bank barrier.
But now, he's struck again. This time at Paris Hilton. The artist managed to replace 500 copies of Paris Hilton's new album, "Paris," in 48 HMV stores around Britain, with his own version of the album, complete with altered artwork and a replaced CD that contains remixes from an unknown DJ. Some suggest that this change was subtle, but after viewing the evidence, I have a hard time believing that. Let's take a closer look:
Quite the difference, no? And that's not all. Here, you can see the entire artwork of the album leaflet, complete with doctored nude pictures of Paris Hilton and various notes relating to her fame. My favourite has to be the artwork on the CD back - Paris HIlton with a dog's head! What a world we live in. As far as can be ascertained, HMV has already removed all doctored versions of the album from the shelves, but hopefully someone will be kind enough to upload the remixes.
