Pink
Pink gets raunchy
Born Alecia Beth Moore but better known as Pink, she suffered from asthma and learnt to breath from her lower abdomen with the help of singing lessons. Influenced by the likes of Janis Joplin, Billy Joel and 2pac she released her first album Cant Take Me Home in 2000, which included the hits “There You Go” and “Most Girls”.
Pink plays to the image
Unhappy with her image (Pink hair) and stifled by label control she gained notoriety with her second effort M!ssundaztood, which is still here best selling record to date. Eager to remove herself from the stereotypical pop world, she took control of her career striving to be taken seriously as a singer and songwriter.
Pink Hair, just like the name
Singles on the album included “Get The Party Started”, “Don’t Let Me Get Me” and “Just Like A Pill” and these hits cemented her place in the modern music arena. Determined to succeed on her own terms she toured the States supporting Lenny Kravitz and started writing songs for other artists like Faith Hill’s.
Pink performing Live
Contributing to the movie soundtracks for Charlies Angels II and Moulin Rouge Pink’s hectic schedule seemed relentless as she continued to make her mark on the music world.
Pink accepts an award
The release of her 3rd Album titled “Try This” in 2003 containing the songs “Trouble”, “Last To Know” and “God is a DJ” failed to reach industry expectations.
Pink in the Studio
Continuing to tour, performing Live and promoting her work in 2006 she released her most recent album “I’m Not Dead”. The song “Stupid Girl” was a statement against the braindead superficial society that puts more stock in physical appearance than talent or personality.
Pink restraint
Progressively getting more outspoken about negative body image and the empty bimbos promoting unrealistic lifestyle choices, she is passionate about being a positive role model.
Painted Pink
Touring Australia at the moment Pink is determined to evolve as an artist and despite her haphazard popularity continues to entertain and inspire millions worldwide.

i think the only reason she's stretching for the 'young girl role model' tag is because there's money in it. parents buy a lot of music for their young daughters, so if she's the 'wholesome' alternative to all the other pop slags, she's got an advantage. that's where the money is nowadays, anyway. most older kids know how to download music. young kids and parents are where the cash is. it could all just be a brilliant bit of targeted marketing, who knows.
other role models would get an absolute pasting for some of the things she does, so i don't know why she is revered as a role model.
