New Jet single
August 9th 2006 00:53
After what seems like forever, Aussies Jet have finally released some new material. Their new album, "Shine On," is due to come out on October 3rd, 2006, and they have just released the first single from it, Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is has just been released, and available for listening on their Myspace.
The song is pretty average, and only helps to prove that Jet was quite the one-hit-wonder. Frontman Nic Chester has opted for the tried-and-untrue technique of simply singing higher to achieve a different sound. His trademark raspy scream, which enters about a minute into the song, would save the song if only it had become cliched technique during Jet's long absence, the Vines and the Subways adopting it quite quickly and calling it their own.
Make your own mind up about the song, if you can get it to work of course - the supposedly infallible Myspace system has been so screwy lately that I begin to wonder if its worth the trouble at all.
