September 14th 2006 21:08
It has been known for a few months now that Strokes guitarist, Albert Hammond Jr. was embarking on a quasi-solo career. However, in a recent interview with NME, he has revealed that some of the songs on his upcoming solo album were originally songs he'd written to be played with the rest fo the Strokes, but were turned down by the other members.
Hammond Jr. denied that the songs were in fact denied by principal songwriter and Strokes frontman himself, Julian Casablancas, but rather by the rest of the members. Nevertheless, while there are no hard feelings, Hammond Jr. is reportedly going ahead with his album, due to be released on October 9.
