The Police to Reunite
January 4th 2007 10:51
For the first time in twenty years, the Police will make a live appearance. Marking the thirtieth anniversary of the release of their first single, "Roxanne," rumours have been floating around that the Police are considering rebanding for a tour. The tour, which will see Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland all reunite, will span across the UK and US, and will coincide with their label A&M releasing a boxset to commemorate the anniversary.
Questions of reuniting have, of course, surfaced in the past, and, with the exception of Sting, there has been a willingness to do it. "I'm very keen on it," Stewart Copeland said after the band's induction into the Rock Hall of Fame in 2003. "It was really great to be the Police for 15 minutes." Since 2003, no news of such an occurence has appeared, until now. Still, the band members have remained friends over the years and as such a reunion is not too unlikely.
Sources suggest that the tour will be announced sometime this month, and will take place around May or June, however nothing is official as yet, nor will it be until an official announcement is made. Until then, "Roxanne" and "Message in a Bottle" have the unfortunate fate of remaining on the song list at karoake bars.

I'm not a fan of Sting's solo work.
And I do love Stewart Copeland........
