The Rock N Roll detective smashes CNN
Okay so I know that strictly speaking the Diceman isn’t music news, but in my defense he did try singing at one stage and he certainly tried to live the hedonistic rock god life for a while. Rumour has it he picks up a guitar now and then.
Andrew Dice Clay made his name as a foul mouthed comic notorious for misogynistic sexual expletives, donning a leather jacket and chain smoking Jimmy Dean style. This is a guy that once got banned from MTV for his version of classic nursery rhymes…hickory dickory dock, this chick was…better stop now.
In the cinema persona of Ford Fairlane the Rock N roll detective he earned a cult following and with an opening featuring Motley Crue solidified his own link to the music world.
Anyway enough redundant backstory, the reason for this post is that Clay-mation has once again returned to the headlines with a foul mouthed tirade aimed at a CNN reporter whose fact checker should be fired.
Over on youtube.com they have broadcast the tail end of the interview. It is pretty obvious several other mistakes have occurred prior to where we pick up and this must be the last straw.
Un-fuckin-believable, the rowdy celebrity is on the defensive and takes offence to being indirectly labelled a has-been. Then there is a mix up about involvement with a gym and the verbal fists fly after that.
The smug journalist seems vaguely amused at his flub on the history of Dice, but the insults continue to fly off camera for a while longer before an Art Carney story can be resumed.
So whats to be learned from this? Andrew DC has a fragile ego and takes himself a little to seriously. He will not be back on CNN for a long time and who would have expected anything less from the loud mouthed comedian.
Here it is ladies and gentleman, Andrew Dice Clay losing it on a national news network...is this comedy?
Warning this clip contains swearing and frank sexual lyrics, its classic dice man on stage and offending.
