They're sooo hot right now

I just had to quote the all-knowing Mugatu - If you don't know who he is, you are an uncultured swine. Nevertheless, I feel even this quote doesn't do the band I'm reviewing today justice, for I am talking about none other than Canadian artists "Hot Hot Heat."
Like "The Postal Service," this Canadian quartet take some getting used to, but once you're deep in their music, you can't escape. I first came to hear about them about a year and a half ago through their 2002 album, "Make Up the Breakdown," and this seems to be the album which set them on fire, and they've been alight ever since. Tracks like "Naked in the City Again," "Get In or Get Out," and "Oh, Godammit" present a rather mellow and yet rocky feel that is unescapable and totally lovable. While they aren't immune to the odd flop or annoying track (for some reason everyone loves Bandages except me) but the rest of the tracks more than make up for it. They can't be genrerised (if that is a word), but if they had to be described with one word, it would have to be simply "tweaker" (see Comments for rough definition).
Their follow up 2005 album, "Elevator" only proves that they are committed to creating hits. Tracks like "Goodnight Goodnight," "Jingle Jangle" and "Island of the Honest Man" combine pop melodies with an out-of-this-world perspective on music and life in general that fits right in to what their fans expect from them. Not much more can be written except to say that you are indeed a fool if you don't give this band a try.

Ah, Mugatu...
It's great that you include the Myspace page... as much as I hate MySpace, it's a great way to hear some tracks.
