U2 get around to rescheduling Aussie tour
July 16th 2006 01:43
While the disapointment of thousands of Aussie fans at the idea that U2 had postponed their tour to Down Under have since faded from memory, the Irish band seem like they are finally set to reschedule their tour. The Sydney Morning Herald, and a quick news statement on the U2 Official Site both say that the band will make an official announcement sometime this week about when the tour will take place. The Sydney Morning Herald also reports that the concert will remain at Telstra Stadium, the major sign of the former glory that was the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and now subject to slow massacre by West Tigers and Canterbury Bulldogs fans at ill-attended weekend NRL matches. The article also reports that "insiders" hint to the idea that the new tour schedule will involve U2 playing at the stadium on November 10 and 11, with a possible third show to be announced on November 13, meaning that if, like me, you were too lazy to buy tickets to the first two shows, you have another chance. I'll try and get the news as soon as possible, as well as whether Ticketek or Ticketmaster are selling them.
