V Festival 2007 heads to Australia
November 27th 2006 22:23
Richard Branson's V Festival has gone international. Originally a UK-only event, it appears that the Virgin Group are seeking to expand into other venues across the world. This year's concert saw the first foray into external markets, with the event taking place in the US and Canada as well as in Britain. However, Branson has announced further possibilities for expansion, including Italy, Spain, South America, and confirming two concerts in Australia.
The Australian leg of the V Festival will take place on March 31st in Sydney, and April 1st on the Gold Coast, with no mention of further dates. So far, the lineup includes the likes of Pixies, Gnarls Barkley, The Rapture, Groove Armada, Soulwax and Pet Shop Boys, with no mention of further international or local acts.
No mention as yet has been made of which ticket vendor will be used, but it has been confirmed that the tickets will go on sale on December 4th.

That's a pity, but sometimes it really does boil down to money doesn't it? I'm not going to the Big Day Out as I'm a bit broke. The Pixies were my priority!

An indoors gig will be a much better sound, longer set, and to be honest I dont like anyone else on the V fest lineup
