Hello Music Lovers
I'm Michael Holloway, a South Australian postgraduate student writing a thesis about inspirational women in music, and the general theme of music as a magical power. Once I'm finished, I'm eager to find a career in music reviewing and writing articles about music for newspapers/magazines/online publications.
I'm sure most people know Val Kilmer is a fabulous actor, but did you also know he is a superlative singer-songwriter? Val's music (written with his writing partner Mick Rossi) is excellent, and deserves to be heard, so I hope you might be interested in helping me promote it. The proceeds from the sale of the CDs have been going to Val's charities.
As well as being a fabulous actor and musician, Val Kilmer is also one of the kindest, most generous, and friendliest souls in the world, and although we've not actually met, we've become good friends online and he has been personally kind to me in various ways.
I am not only a fan of Val's, but I am also one of his worldwide Street Team members, and he has asked fans to spread the word in the media that he is working on releasing his debut album and has announcements on his Official MySpaces...

One such cause that Val has raised money for at these events is for the families of police officers who were killed in the September 11th 2001 disaster. Val is also committed to helping the Wildlife Centre through proceeds of his music.
Also, Val is a committed member of the V-Day organisation which seeks ways to end the violence against women and girls that pervades our society.
Along with the CD, copies of Val Kilmer's book of original poetry Jack's Gandhi were also sold for charity, and limited copies of both the CD and book are still available from Val's music store on his official website.

Here is a recent bulletin Val sent his fans - with the news that Val ranked an impressive #32 out of 25,100 rockers on ReverbNation and a hint about Val's future musical endeavours!

Count me in as a fan of Val the actor, as for val teh singer I think Top Secret and The Doors are my only taste of his vocal stylings.
Is there a sample of Val's music on his myspace page?

Hi John Doe! Thanks for the welcome. Val does sing wonderfully in "The Doors" and "Top Secret" (I even have the soundtrack for the latter on cassette), but you really should see his magnificent performance in Ten Commandments: The Musical where he plays Moses. I have a review for that too which I'll post here soon if you like. I've watched it several times, the music and performances by Val and all the cast are brilliant. Everyone in that musical deserves a Tony award - is that the right award for theatre performances?
I only wish there was a CD soundtrack for that. Also, look out for some reviews of albums from the other cast members in the near future. I've been collecting those too!
As for Val's MySpace, yes, he has samples of his music on there - particularly on his Music MySpace. I'm not sure if the links showed up properly in my original post but here's the link again anyway.

If you enjoy Val's vocals in the movies you mentioned, you will love his demo CD, and fans are eagerly awaiting a full-length album from Val, and I'd love it if he performed a concert in Australia.
They're all great songs, but I recommend "True Friend" especially. That's my favourite!

Lovely to see you here! The more Val fans the merrier! We should all get together someday and have a party in Val's honour - we'll invite him too of course!
I love Val's music and poetry, and I love being able to help Val with his charities. I love how Val gives people a chance to help out with things they might not ordinarily have the resources or opportunity to.
